How can I help my friend get permanent US residency?

This is a little complicated. I have a friend that lives in Sri Lanka (he was born in South Korea though) and is going to go to Cornell University in the fall. What he wants to do is get a job here in the US after he graduates because he doesn't want to go back to Korea. What can he do so that he can stay here in the US permanently?
