Okay I had this cold and it went away but within a week or so, just the cough came back?

i know this is gross but i have flam and it feels like a dry cough and sounds like a bronchitis cough and i just have to cough so my throat will feel better and get that deep itch in my chest. I hope this makes sense cause i dont know whats wrong with me! thank you =]
